"KONY 2012."
Ok, so, this is a touchy subject for some, and I intend, as usual, to let my opinions be known. As with everything, there are different sides, beliefs and opinions. If you're sitting there like, "What the fuck is a Kony?" YouTube it, it's a 30 minute video - you got time.
A lot of folks on the "not so supportive," side of stopping Joseph Kony, say things like, "He's been inactive for like, 10 fuckin' years." Um.... yeah, inactive from mutilating children, making them kill their own families AFTER kidnapping them and/or using them for prositiution. But that's all good, right, guys? I mean, "It's been like 10 fuckin' years..." Just sit back for a minute and think about how absolutely fucking ridiculous that sounds. "Oh, we found Hitler 10 years later, but hey, I mean, it's been 10 years, no biggie." And yes, I just compared this situation to Hitler, because on certain levels, they are very similar. I don't give a flying fuckin' fart in space if it's been 10, 20 or 30 years - somebody with power of this magnitude who has created an army ( The LRA, Lords Resistence Army. ) a lot of which, children. Yeah, the kidnapped ones who were forced to bust bullets into their own parents, yeah, ya know, the ones who were tortured by having their lips, or noses, or both, and sometimes worse, cuuuut the fuck off? Those, yeah, the ones holding an AK47 after being brainwashed from being fucking terrorized, now in the LRA, because of Kony. Anyway, clearly, i'm of the opinion that this is a big deal, and catching him is a big deal and a HUGE accomplishment for Uganda. Those of you being like "He's been a good boy for a decade, HOOORAYYYY," can kindly get the fuuuuck outta here with that bullshit. No, really. Get.
SECONDLY, something else that made me become emotionally invested in "Stop Kony 2012," has been the involvement of THE WORLD -- say what you want about the film, and film makers, and whatever funds have went places they shouldn't - the FUCKING FACT is they set out to make a difference for Uganda and it's people, despite how long it took them, they utilized modern day networking to spread the story, the cause and their plight on making Joseph Kony a household name, making him, "famous," so that this problem won't go ignored and brushed to the side, and so the 100 troops, the US FINALLY deployed won't be pulled out. The effort itself is fucking amazing. IN ADDITION, did I mention the WORLD is involved? From so many countries, it's overwhelming to me in suuuuch an emotional way, that people of so many cultures and races have banded together on this topic, and I mean, how many times in our lifetime can we honestly say that as a fucking PLANET, the countries have similarly banded together in hopes and with good efforts to help see this mission through? It's fucking beautiful. FUCK what you think. Support it or don't, BUT, ultimately, how huge ALL OVER THE WORLD this has gotten? Is beautiful. It's how it should be and never is. I give nothing but love respect and props to everyone supporting this and those who began this, it's been an accomplishment all around, and I hope and pray that the grander accomplishment and finding Kony and stopping the LRA is completed as well....
( For those who would want involved, check out Invisible Children online - on April 20th of next month, we are "painting the town," in posters, stickers, whatever. The idea, is for everyone to wake up that morning, and see so much Kony, that they're promted to take a look and find out information, hence causing it to be a household name, at bigger lengths than it already has. )
Well, that's my take on it all.
:)
Stop Jospeh Kony!
Oh and um, Syria? The Sudan? I could go on and on and today, I won't.
